How does it work?
Each panel topic will consist of 2+ speakers with a moderator conducting the group discussion for 1 hour. Q & A will follow for 20 minutes after each topic for attendees to ask panel speakers anything about their OT business.

My name is Dr. Patrice, a recent post-professional occupational therapy doctorate (PP-OTD) graduate from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut, and I am an OTR based in New Jersey. I have a mobile private practice called Maynard Milestones where I provide services to clients through independent contracting and take on clients privately. I provide teletherapy services and have a background in direct sales. I know a thing or two about OT entrepreneurship, and by creating the Occupational Therapy Entrepreneurs of Color (OTEC) Online Conference and community, I wanted to hold a space where OTPs that look like you and I are able to learn from one another about the many facets of entrepreneurship.
Networking amongst other individuals that represent the small percentage of OTPs in the profession that look like us shows how much representation matters when you are on your entrepreneurial journey.

Who can attend this event?
This is catered to OT practitioners of Color and students interested in entrepreneurship. If you are a PT, SLP, student, an ally, or another healthcare professional with an interest in entrepreneurship, you are more than welcome to attend.
Will this event be recorded?
Short answer, YES! We want to have this shared experience offered to as many practitioners and students of Color as possible, yet recordings will be available for a limited time. You must register for the event to receive the recording via email at a discounted ticket price. Anyone who registers for the conference will receive access to the recordings.
Will I learn HOW to be an OTP entrepreneur?
All panel speakers will be sharing what worked and has not worked for them in their OT businesses. They will share what it takes to be in business for yourself from their perspectives. Lots of nuggets will be shared, so make sure to take notes!
Can I pay for one day instead of both event days?
No. The event ticket is for both days only. The event schedule has set times for each panel topic discussion, so you can pick and choose which ones to log in for during the live conference.
Is there a discount price for students?
Yes. You must register with your school email address (Found above on pricing options) for the student discount.
Can I receive CEU credit toward my practitioner license for this conference?
No. At this time, we are not an approved provider for CEU credit.
I am a practitioner and/or a student, but I am not looking to go into entrepreneurship, is this event still a fit for me?
Yes! It can be a great way to learn about marketing and branding yourself as a leader in your OT specialty as a practitioner and future practitioner. As an OTP, we are mostly asked about what the profession is and we are the ones promoting the field and are a representation of what OT looks like in our communities. Branding and marketing ourselves and skillsets are not taught in our OT/OTA programs, and this event would definitely help. We will be happy to have you.
